Overview
Boomer Spring & Fall NFL rules flag football is
a nationally sanctioned program that encourages players
to learn the game of football while emphasizing the
speed & agility side of the game. Flag football
is a fast moving sport which helps the children understand
the speed-of-the-game in a safe & fun environment.
Flag football is played with five
players on offense and five players on defense with
no blocking allowed. This format allows for any player
on the offensive side to be available to receive a pass
or run the ball at any time.
Players learn the basics of running
routes on offense and the aspects of playing defense
without the physical play of tackling. The teaching
of basic football plays through the flag football system
enables the children to have a better grasp of how football
is played as they continue to move up through school
football.
The Boomer Spring & Fall NFL Instructional
Flag Football program begins with league play wherein
the players are divided into teams based upon their
skill level in order to form teams that are as equally
balanced as possible.
